Kamau’s poetic voice resonated in the late 90’s - early 2000’s golden era of San Francisco and Oakland, California’s poetry scene; earning him the title of ‘Best Poet’ in the 1999 Oakland slam finals, and it has carried him to twice win the International Ubud Writers & Readers Festival Poetry Slam in Bali. His words do not simply decorate the air; they remind you that language is a vibration that reconnects you to the essence of existence. He has been a guest artist and workshop facilitator at the World Social Forum in Mumbai, India and has conducted poetry, art and activism workshops in Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka, West Papua.

In ancient Kemet (“Egypt”) Ma’at was the personification of the concepts of truth, balance, order, harmony, law, morality, and justice. She is said to be the “First born of The Creator”, the one who gave order to primordial chaos, the one who all men and deities must bow to. “She” is a universal cosmic principle, a force that breathes individuated life and regulation to the galaxies.
