A Journey Into the Soul of Japan

There is a Japan that lives beyond the postcards and overcrowded attractions—
A Japan that breathes in quiet forests, forgotten pathways, and timeless temple rituals.

Together, we will step off the well-trodden path and into sacred spaces rarely touched by tourism. You’ll be guided through daily practices of meditation, qi gong, tuluvi movement, creative expression, and sacred silence—all in places chosen for their energetic potency and historical depth. We will also experience the beauty of Japan through its cuisine and local hospitality.

  • Feel the stillness of moss-covered temples and ancient cedar groves

  • Engage in soulful practices drawn from Japanese spiritual traditions

  • Reconnect to yourself through presence, nature, and creatively shared experience

  • Discover a Japan that speaks to your spirit, not just your senses

No prior experience is needed. Let the land reveal what you didn’t know you were seeking.

Only 8 Spaces Available!

The Schedule

  • Tuluvi Arts Kyoto Immersion 1

    Day 1 - Earth, Wind, Fire & Water

    The foundation of our journey begins with a Japanese Tea Welcoming Ceremony and orientation. Then we will travel to one of Kyoto’s best-kept-secret temples (and Kamau’s favorite), where we will immerse into nature to practice the fundamentals of energy awareness and meditative practice. This day will set the tone for our four days of experience.

    *Opening Ceremony

    * Explore and Practice at Beautiful Esoteric Buddhist Temple

    * Elemental Energy Arts Practice

  • Day 2 - Life Force Energy and Personal Power

    On Day 2, we travel up and over Mt. Kurama mountain. At the apex, we will engage in a powerful Tuluvi energy arts practice at the refreshing and energetically charged location where Mikao Usui meditated for 21 days and brought forth the healing modality known as ‘Reiki’. Along the way, we will experience the grandeur of 800 year old trees and stop for meditation at Kurama Temple, as well as exploring other wonderful sites the mountain area offers.

    * Sacred Mountain Hike

    * Mountain Temple Visit

    * Visit and Practice at the Birthplace of Reiki

    * Evening Meditation

  • Day 3 - Mystical Creativity

    Creativity is the language of the unseen to the seen. On this day, we enter the sacred dimension of Mystical Creativity—where expression becomes a bridge between spirit and form, between the silence within and the living landscape around us. Through written and spoken word, sacred movement and visual art, we will allow the expressions from our depth to rise to the surface.

    * Esoteric Poetry workshop with Kamau

    * Sacred Movement with Nanaka

    * Sacred Mantra Mandala workshop with Pradhan Aditya

    * Special Performance Presentation

  • Day 4 - Kyoto Traditonal Arts

    In Japan, the traditional life and cultural arts are honored and preserved in Kyoto. On our final day, we will engage and experience the weaving of the old, the now, and the future. You will experience:

    * Wearing a traditional summer kimono (yukata)

    * Japanese Tea Ceremony

    *Traditional Maiko Dance Performance

    * Closing Dinner

  • Day 5 - The Spirit of Nara

    Nara is where the breath of Japan's spiritual heritage still lingers in the morning mist.

    Before Kyoto, there was Nara—the first capital of Japan and the birthplace of many of its most enduring sacred traditions. Here, the presence of the kami (spirit forces) and Buddhas is not a memory, but a living atmosphere—woven into the towering cedars, the silent stone lanterns, and the watchful eyes of deer regarded as messengers of the divine.

    On this day, we journey into the quiet soul of Japan.

    * You will walk the same paths once trodden by monks, poets, and pilgrims.

    * Visit one of Japan’s most beautiful temples and was the first temple to allow and welcome women into sacred grounds for worship.

    * Engage in specific grounding practices to deepen our presence and attune to the subtle currents of energy that still pulse through this sacred terrain.

Meet Your Guides

Kamau & Nanaka

Kamau and Nanaka Abayomi are interdisciplinary artists, spiritual teachers, and cultural stewards whose work bridges ancient wisdom and contemporary embodiment.

Kamau is a mystic poet, certified qi gong instructor, and soul remembrance guide with over 25 years of experience in energy cultivation, African and Asian esoteric practice, and metaphysical exploration. A graduate of the Monroe Institute’s Gateway Voyage program, he brings a grounded clarity and visionary depth to every space he enters, guiding others into the subtle dimensions of inner truth and energetic presence. Kamau has been traveling to Japan to teach, to learn and to create for over two decades.

Nanaka is a dancer, yogini, and teacher of healing through movement. Born and raised in Nagoya, Japan, she was trained in traditional Japanese dance at a young age and expanded into contemporary dance movement. Her path has flowed through soul music, somatic yoga, and temple arts. Her presence is at once rooted and ethereal, inviting grace, stillness, and remembrance through the body’s innate intelligence.

Together, they create spaces where the mystical becomes tangible—where sacred practice, cultural reverence, and inner listening open gateways to a deeper experience of self, land, and spirit.

Join us for a richly diverse experience that allows you to explore new depths of your inner world, as you travel the timeless wisdom in Japan’s mystical environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Travel & Logistics

The Mystical Arts Immersion unfolds in Kyoto and Nara, two of Japan’s most sacred and historic landscapes, where ancient temples, forests, and shrines still whisper their timeless wisdom.
The immersion will take place from June 26th to June 30th, 2025 — five full days of practice, exploration, creativity, and sacred connection with the living spirit of Japan.
We recommend flying into Kansai International Airport (KIX) near Osaka. From there, it is an easy journey into Kyoto, where our immersion begins.
Accommodations are not included, allowing you the flexibility to choose your level of comfort. We will assist you with thoughtful recommendations close to our gathering locations in Kyoto.
Yes. All group transportation during the immersion — including our journey to sacred sites in Kyoto and Nara — is fully provided once the program begins.
Our daily rhythm flows from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., blending practices, temple visits, and creative exploration. Afterward, you’ll have personal free time, with optional evening offerings for those who wish to dive deeper into the mystery of Japan’s nights.
Travel insurance is not required but is strongly encouraged to offer you peace of mind for unexpected changes or events during your journey.

Preparation & Requirements

No prior experience is needed. Whether you are stepping onto this path for the first time or deepening an existing practice, you are warmly welcomed just as you are.
Travel light with a comfortable backpack. Bring a journal, water, and your openness. Comfortable walking shoes are essential, as the sacred places we visit invite slow, mindful steps.
Daily lunch is lovingly provided. Breakfast and dinner will be at your leisure, allowing you to explore Kyoto’s culinary offerings. We accommodate dietary needs with care — simply let us know in advance.
There will be a moderate amount of walking, including forest trails, temple pathways, and a gentle mountain ascent. If you enjoy slow, steady movement through nature and sacred spaces, you will find it enriching.
Dress for ease and respect. Loose, breathable clothing is ideal for summer’s warmth. We recommend lightweight long pants over shorts for temple visits and nature walks. A small umbrella or rain jacket is also wise, should the sky choose to bless us with rain.

Group & Atmosphere

We are keeping the group intentionally small — limited to just 8 participants — to ensure intimacy, personal attention, and a deep collective resonance.
Participants must be 18 years or older. We welcome all sincere travelers from diverse backgrounds. A personal conversation will be held with each registrant to ensure harmony within the group container.
Yes. Personal reflection, journaling, and creative exploration are woven naturally into each day’s rhythm — not as afterthoughts, but as vital parts of your unfolding journey.
The immersion will be conducted in English, with Japanese translation offered as needed. We also recommend downloading a translation app to assist you during your personal adventures outside of our sessions.

Payment & Cancellation

The early bird investment is $1,800 if reserved by May 20th, 2025. After that, the full rate of $2,200 applies.
Yes. You may divide your investment into two payments if needed. Simply let us know, and we will arrange it with care.
If you cancel within two weeks of booking, you will receive a 75% refund. After two weeks, we are unable to offer refunds due to the sacred preparations involved. We recommend travel insurance for additional protection.
Final payments are due by June 3rd, 2025, to ensure everything flows gracefully as we prepare to welcome you.

For Those Who Feel the Quiet Call

It is natural to feel both the pull of the soul and the tremble of uncertainty. If something within you stirs at the thought of this journey, we invite you to trust it. Often, the greatest openings come through the quietest doors.
Yes. There is no measure of worthiness here. Only sincerity matters. If you are willing to listen, to open, and to be present, you already carry everything you need.
This journey rekindles your connection to the living wellspring within. Through movement, meditation, sacred sites, and creative expression, you are invited to rediscover your own voice, your own path, your own deeper rhythm of being.
This is not a tour, nor a retreat in the conventional sense. It is a sacred unfolding — a weaving of presence, land, spirit, and creativity into a living ceremony of remembrance.
No. Some journeys are meant to be entered not with goals, but with openness. Trust that whatever seeks to emerge will reveal itself in its own time, through your willingness to step across the threshold.

If a quiet question remains within you, trust that it, too, is part of the path. We welcome you to reach out — sometimes, a single conversation can water the seed of a new beginning.
